Can you make a car key if I've lost all of mine?
Yes. Losing every key feels like the worst case, but it's a routine job — I can generate and program a new key to your vehicle even with nothing to copy from. I'll need the car's make, model and year, and proof you own it. Some makes take longer than others, so tell me what you're driving and I'll let you know what to expect.
Do you program transponder chips and push-button-start remotes?
Yes. I cut and program transponder (chip) keys so your car's immobiliser accepts them, and I supply and pair remote and proximity fobs, including keyless push-button-start vehicles. I'll confirm what your specific model needs before any work starts.
Is a locksmith cheaper than going to the dealer for a car key?
Often, yes — and you don't have to tow the car anywhere or wait days. That said, a few makes are genuinely better handled by the dealer, and I'll tell you honestly if yours is one of them rather than take on a job that isn't right for you. Either way you'll get a straight answer.
Will opening the car or making a key cause any damage?
My aim is always non-destructive entry — getting into the car without marking the door, lock or window — and that's how the vast majority of lockouts go.
