Milsons Point is one of the most recognisable few blocks in Sydney — wedged directly beneath the southern end of the Harbour Bridge, with Luna Park's grinning face on the foreshore and the lap pool of the North Sydney Olympic Pool catching the harbour light. It's also, quietly, one of the trickiest patches on the Lower North Shore to be locked out of. Most homes here aren't houses with a spare key under the pot — they're apartments, many of them high up in harbourfront towers off Alfred Street and Olympic Drive, behind a secure lobby, an intercom and often a fob you can't just cut a copy of at the hardware shop. When one of those fails at the wrong moment, you want someone who already knows the buildings, not a call centre reading your postcode back to you.

That's me. I'm a licensed locksmith and I work the Lower North Shore properly — Milsons Point, Kirribilli, North Sydney and the suburbs around them — from a base in Neutral Bay that's only a few minutes' drive across Kirribilli. I pick up the phone myself and I turn up myself. Over the years I've opened plenty of front doors a stone's throw from the station, sorted out apartment locks with a ferry horn going off down at the wharf, and rekeyed places after a settlement or a tenant change in the towers above the park.

If you're standing outside your door right now, the fastest thing is to call. We'll work out exactly where you are — which building, which level, whether it's a lobby fob, a unit deadlock or a car key locked inside — and I'll tell you honestly how long I'll be. No drama, no upsell. Just the door open and you back inside.

The Milsons Point lock landscape

Milsons Point is dense, vertical and overwhelmingly strata. The harbourfront and near-station addresses are dominated by mid- and high-rise apartment blocks, many built or refurbished for keyless and fob-based entry, alongside a scattering of older walk-ups and a few heritage terraces tucked up the hill toward Kirribilli. That mix means the lock work here skews away from simple house lockouts and toward apartment deadlocks, master-key and restricted-key systems that run a whole building, intercom-linked entry, and smart or keyless access on individual units. Because so much of it is strata, the people who call me most often aren't just residents — they're building managers, strata committees and apartment receptionists who need a licensed locksmith they can hand a recurring problem to and trust to get it right the first time. I keep the kind of restricted-key and smart-lock capability those buildings actually need, and I'm used to coordinating access with a concierge or BM rather than just rocking up to a front gate.

What I do in Milsons Point

  • Emergency lockouts, 24/7 — front doors, apartment deadlocks, lobby and garage access in the harbourfront towers, plus home, business and car lockouts anywhere in Milsons Point
  • Smart locks and keyless / fob-based entry — installation, repair and reprogramming for the keyless systems common in the high-rise blocks near the station and foreshore
  • Restricted and master-key systems for strata buildings — one secure key plan across lobbies, units, bin rooms and common areas, managed for building managers and committees
  • Lock changes and new lock installation after a move-in, settlement or tenant change in the apartments above Luna Park and along Alfred Street
  • Rekeying — keeping your existing hardware but cutting out old keys, ideal when you've lost a fob or aren't sure who still holds a copy
  • Automotive and car key work — transponder keys, remotes and car lockouts for residents parking in the basement and street levels around Olympic Drive
  • Commercial and strata work — locks, access and security for the cafes, businesses and managed buildings across the Milsons Point waterfront
I'm based in Neutral Bay, which makes Milsons Point genuinely close — typically just a short run across through Kirribilli rather than a trek in from the city. That proximity is the whole point: I'm a local who can actually be there quickly, not a city-wide operator who dispatches whoever's free. I won't quote you a made-up "minutes" guarantee over the phone, but when you call I'll give you an honest, real estimate based on exactly where I am and what the traffic's doing around the Bridge. Available 24/7 — including the awkward hours when the lobby's empty and there's no one to let you in.

Milsons Point FAQs

Good to know

I'm locked out of my apartment in one of the towers near the station — can you actually get in?

Yes. Apartment lockouts are most of what I do in Milsons Point. Whether it's a unit deadlock, a lobby fob that's stopped working or you've pulled the door shut with the keys inside, give me a call and tell me the building and level. I'll talk you through it and head over. If there's a concierge or building manager involved, I'm used to coordinating access with them.

Do you do smart locks and fob systems, or just traditional locks?

Both. A lot of the newer harbourfront blocks here run keyless and fob-based entry, so I regularly install, repair and reprogram smart and keyless access alongside standard deadlocks and door hardware. If you're not sure what you've got, describe it on the phone and I'll know.

How quickly can you get to Milsons Point?

I'm based in Neutral Bay, just across through Kirribilli, so Milsons Point is genuinely close for me. I won't quote a fixed time before I know where I am and what the Bridge traffic's like, but when you call I'll give you a real, honest estimate rather than a marketing number.

I manage a strata building here — can you handle a whole-building key system?

That's a big part of my work on the Lower North Shore. I set up and maintain restricted and master-key systems so one controlled key plan covers lobbies, units, bin rooms and common areas — and I'm happy to be the locksmith a building manager or committee calls for recurring jobs. Restricted keys also mean copies can't just be cut at a hardware shop.

Are you actually licensed?

Yes — I hold NSW Master Security Licence 000111072, and you're welcome to check it. I'm also rated 5.0 across more than 200 Google reviews from neighbours around the Lower North Shore, which I'd back over any sales pitch.
